This Privacy Policy explains how Sungio (“Sungio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit sungio.com(the “Site”) and use our custom song service (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Information we collect
- Details you provide about the person your song is for. When you complete our creation flow, we collect the information you enter — such as their first name, your relationship, personality traits, and the story details used to write your song. Please only share details you have the right to share.
- Contact information. Your email address, which we use to deliver your song and communicate about your order.
- Payment information. If you make a purchase, payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles it securely on our behalf.
- Usage & device data. We automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and interactions with the Site through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use your information
- To generate, produce, and deliver your custom song.
- To process payments and provide customer support.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and Service.
- To measure and improve our marketing, including advertising analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the Site and to measure the performance of our advertising. This includes:
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — helps us measure the effectiveness of our ads and understand visitor actions.
- PostHog (PostHog, Inc., data stored in the European Union) — product analytics that show us which steps of the creation flow people complete or abandon. PostHog also records session replays: a reconstruction of the pages you viewed and the clicks and scrolls you made, so we can see where the Site is confusing. Text you type into form fields is masked in these recordings.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — where enabled, helps us understand Site traffic and usage.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can also manage ad personalization through your Meta and Google account settings.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Service, including:
- Payment processing — Stripe, Inc.
- Hosting & infrastructure — Vercel, Inc.
- AI lyric & music generation — third-party AI providers that turn the details you provide into lyrics and a finished song.
- Email delivery — Resend, Inc., which sends the email containing your finished song.
- Database & storage — the answers you give in the creation flow and the finished audio file are stored with our hosting and database providers so we can deliver your song and re-send it if you lose it.
- Reviews — Trustpilot A/S. When your finished song is emailed to you, a blind copy of that email is sent to Trustpilot so that they can invite you to leave a review about seven days later. This shares your email address and the fact that you placed an order. Leaving a review is entirely optional, and you can unsubscribe from Trustpilot invitations directly from the invitation email.
- Advertising & analytics — Meta, PostHog and Google, as described above.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
International data transfers
We operate globally, and the providers listed above are located in several countries, including the United States and the European Union. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in a country other than the one you live in, where data protection laws may differ from those of your own country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses — for these transfers.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain data sharing. To exercise these rights, email us at team@sungio.com.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
